Maria Y. Hernandez, Ph.D., LCSW, received her graduate degrees in social work from UC Berkeley and USC and returned to USC to serve as a Postdoctoral Scholar on the La CLAve project. She oversaw the research data collection, and carried out interviews of caregivers and ill relatives.
Maria is the lead author on the evaluation of our brief film which was published in the Journal of Health Communication. She also contributed to other publications in the Journal of Immigrant and Minority Health, and Early Intervention in Psychiatry. She is now an Assistant Professor of Social Work at the California State University, Los Angeles.
